The public is aware of the Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh story, which includes the kidnapping and murder of American Jewish journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002, his trial and conviction in Pakistan, where he remains in prison pending judicial review, the kidnapping of Western tourists in India in late 1994, his arrest and imprisonment in Delhi, his release in exchange for the IC-814 hostages in 1999, and so on. Thus, there aren’t many major surprises in the Omerta storyline. It depicts the events leading up to the feared terrorist’s plan execution in a distant, deadpan, docu-drama manner.
