Lucas is a boy who is bullied by a boy twice his size. Unable to defend himself, he removes his frustration on an anthill. His worst fears come alive when a curse shrinks him to the size of the ants. This is a fun family movie with some great life lessons. While most kid movies spout valuable life lessons of one sort or another, the ones that work don’t talk down to kids. Still haven’t had your fill of animated invertebrates after digesting ‘A Bug’s Life’ and ‘Antz’? Here’s a ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kid’ look at the world of dirt beneath our feet. As kiddie entertainment it works well, with simple humour and lots of action. But there’s not a lot to appeal to any accompanying adults.
